Five Main Ways of Learning
We can define five main ways of learning: group practices, individual session, master classes, seminars and workshops.
Regardless of what format we pick to teach a person we should keep his individuality. This means to point a person primarily to look at oneself. To make that happen it is necessary to follow how does the practitioner focuses during classes, how one concentrates.
Today teaching is usually led by a person that people choose according to aesthetic and locational factor, where how and why they want to practice. Nobody understands the subject itself, how and why it should be taught. Very little people have the working experience, and those that do usually become victims of conservatism. All this creates a rudimentary method of education when the roots of the subject are not seen even by those teaching it.
Practitioners should receive power wisdom and concentration. Space should contribute to that. As long as a person separates practices and life one should understand that practices for him/her are a reasonable gas station where one saves strength. Ending of any practice should gather a person so one would go out with strength motivation and didn’t just float out or flop out having feeling that he has done something.
A minimum task of training is to increase human potential and not just teach something somehow, but to transmit knowledge about characteristics of correct behaviour, nutrition, etc. Even until now, not many people understand what liquids they should drink and why, and that ruins the whole process of development. We can seriously work with a beginner, and then one goes and drinks God knows what, that way violating the molecular connections that we tuned up and restored. This especially applies to those who work with young people as advertisement has huge influence on them.
For children of 9-11 years old to drink Coca-cola and Ice Tea is a conditioned reflex. In essence, that takes away the possibility of us doing something with them, as they destroy their will and conscience via those means and it turns out that we are already working with “meat”. And if we are working with “meat” then we will get nowhere, it’s impossible to constantly “bring up” that “meat”.
Advertising nowadays produces a conditioned reflex that requires awareness. For example, if to advertise Tai-chi, then for a person who saw the advert it will be a conditioned reflex of slow motion going somewhere. If yesterday capoera was something one could pay attention to and try to figure it out, then now even those who are familiar with this technique have developed a conditioned reflex.
Seminars. Axis
Seminars are a real source of knowledge where the task, volume and methods of education are explained. It is a kind of an axis in educational methods. It is here and not during practice where the knowledge should be given and sorted out. It is an important instrument of education where a person should come for knowledge and to find out about the difference between the five ways of educating. That is where we should begin. Seminars should be directional and programming in character. There shouldn’t be lots of “extras” here; all actions should give orientation.
Private lessons. Proportionality.
Private lessons are a method of education where the practitioner drills the subject or gets individual lessons. The main principal of the private session is building the internal geometry and becoming aware through that internal geometry of the rest of the 4 levels of education.
The responsibility should be completely on the practitioner in private sessions particularly. One should translate the information to knowledge and perfect them in the given conditions that are also supported by the practitioner, where the discipline of motion stands first.
Group sessions. Developing rhythm
Group sessions is the most wide spread method of education. Its participants must understand that the process of development is time that they use for themselves. For that to happen it is necessary to correctly build a space. Time of undeground methods has past. People require aesthetics of space regardless of what they say. And those who organize group sessions should create maximal efforts for working with the space itself in places these sessions take place.
Group session is first of all rhythm that drills new experience, where we educate them to breathe differently, live, move, and exist differently. Rhythm is very important. You shouldn’t allow beginners to group sessions of higher level. Prior to that you should have a discussion with them or better if they could go through a seminar or a master class. Otherwise they will be breaking the rhythm of the whole group that breaks the whole point of a group session.
Mater classes. Centralization
A master class is an event directed on going through some of the baisics of practices. There you go through something that’s not understood or the host defines the valuable spots and goes through them in tasks of working on mistakes. The main task is to focus, make people concentrates on their mistakes- to support orientation or axis that is given in seminars and is drilled in practices.
Workshops. Filling
Workshops gather all types of people. This type of education is directed at volume awareness; participants dive into a big spectrum of actions and educational practices where explanations are down to a minimum and rhythm of sessions is harder to maintain. In essence workshops for different groups are a possibility to fill up in physical, energetic or mental way. Workshops also bring experience and present an opportunity to look at ones life from outside.
A person should understand different formats of education: if one practices alone- that’s one thing, if one attends a seminar where one gets knowledge it’s completely different. If one practices in a group where rhythm needs to be maintained it’s yet another thing.
If we will not support five methods of education described above then we will not keep people in the process of education. Thus, this doesn’t mean that every person should go to workshops, seminars group practices and do private lessons. One firstly should understand the difference between the formats of education.
We should learn to speak to people in a language they can understand and give them opportunity to use this language. If a person leaving to somewhere doesn’t think about practices, then one will get lost. He goes into another field, another space becasue he is chaotic and not whole himself. This difference should be understood because it is an element of method. Method of education should be precise; it should consist of the position of time, space and rhythm, even if people don’t understand that.
There is a concept of timelessness. A person who comes to practice in between time space and rhythm, is in a chaos. The odds are not just on human development, but of forming a particular force. Sometimes it’s like that: you come to some group, but there is no force, no collectiveness and no fulfilment.
It’s necessary to look for combination and harmony. The effort we create in practice is not as important as that which is understood, saved and kept by that effort. And if it’s not kept then it’s necessary to point at the fact that their consciousness is not in a state to follow the process.
The more intellectual practitioners are the more likely they will carry on developing even if it’s not with you. If a person left, but carried on to practice something then the minimum that was asked from us is accomplished. That is an achievement regardless. Someone should do it! Actually a person that started practices somewhere else and progressed to need in development might also come to you. In the beginning we should not allow irritation or exclusion in people that is the reason why it is important to understand what kind of people to allow to the practice.
Also it’s necessary to consider one more parameter – city conditions. A person should be able to break away from the space where one is situated. And you can’t teach from a position “say thank you I’m teaching you”... Thus it doesn’t mean that you should chase after people and run around them. Simply the host should be always mobilized. It’s necessary not only to hold the space but also that small effort that people brought bringing themselves to the practice.
