The Easy inside the Heavy
Unless we free ourselves from our dependence on the space we inhabit, unless our brain gains strength, we will be constantly confused about what is important and what is secondary. To speak of the deep not realizing the essence of depth means to remove ourselves further from understanding the cause. It’s true that accepting things the way they are, is difficult, however by accepting them things become easy. If we do not accept things, we burden ourselves even more. This burdening has a particular physical measure, because we are burdened not only by the conditions of generation, but also by the consequences we have accumulated in the experience of the acts, where – whether we like it or not – we have strengthened the effort of doing.
Effort without control sooner or later subjugates the mind, and we, not knowing the reasons, follow what we have – unknowingly – built up. To react to something does not mean to understand it. You must be able to not only comprehend life but also to build a controlled effort in it. After all, what’s important is not how long we live, but whether we live or we reside obeying some incomprehensible function.
What is the value of all the years passed if you have not in fact participated in your life? Look around to see all those people who believe that they understand something. Or all those who are convinced they’re actually doing something. However how can you be confident of something, if you don’t understand the nature of this confidence? Every action has its source, it has its own power. We use it, but we do not understand its nature. Can we then say that we understand our actions?
Following something with no reason, no matter what the result is, deprives us of what’s most important: being in the process. This is why people depend on the result. Yet, interestingly enough, they can not know it, nor feel it, nor even express their opinions. Mankind has long substituted opinion with reaction, so it needs a reaction to the reaction. If we react to space, then it doesn’t matter what we say or determine, for we must first of all embark into the process. Until we learn to experience the process, we will not only be incapable of solving the problem, but we won’t be able to determine the appropriate benchmark for solving it.
