Consciousness

Question: I was deeply impressed by the statement that we only believe we can think but in fact we actually react to our ‘thinking’. This however means that all our definitions, personal opinions and choices are nothing more than illusions … In this case how should we perceive the activity of our mind? Should we stop paying attention to its blabber? Should we not take seriously our own thoughts? Perhaps they are not our thought at all? Or may be we should not entertain our own personal opinions but should simply observe instead? Here we might even consider the necessity for statistical opinions and definitions. But I would like to ask about the reference points or rather the principles that might set the support of the consciousness in its everyday activity.

One can hardly address this issue if he hasn’t thought about his own nature and consciousness. But let’s try anyway … First we need to examine what kind of consciousness you possess.

The right-hemisphere type of consciousness is a system of human relations controlled by the person’s sensations which however may be processed by the left hemisphere of the brain in case it is sufficiently developed.

The left-hemisphere type of consciousness is the system of relations between the person and his own mind, where the development of the mind surpasses the awareness or the experiencing of the properties of the conscious effort, which essentially makes this type of consciousness as reactionary as the right-hemisphere type.

The centered consciousness lets man understand his own self, i.e. it helps him be true to himself. What I refer to here is in fact the process of activating both the right and the left hemispheres of the brain simultaneously.

Consciousness or rather awareness is a complex process involving the use of effort, which is related to the very concept of Man. This effort may be sufficient or insufficient, it may help man understand his world or prevent him from doing so. This means that the presence of a consciousness does not yet guarantee anything in case this consciousness has not been inscribed in a coordinate system related to the experiencing of the process, which activates this very consciousness.

The understanding of consciousness and its study are a both very foolish processes because each type of consciousness may only develop itself. As a result of this people with left-hemisphere thinking rather hinder the understanding of consciousness instead of developing it. Only he who has acquired a centered mind can develop his consciousness. In other words no matter how developed your left or right hemisphere is, none of them can operate with reality since the degree of their reflection or the angle of their look at the world that surrounds them is greater than the angle of experiencing this world.

This is also true for the right-hemisphere type (this type includes the characteristics of the female consciousness). The most important thing related to consciousness is its actuality, its adequacy, which can be achieved only when the mind is related to the whole coordinate system called ‘Man’. Because the mind must also be reasonable, and this does not even involve the process of thinking but rather involves analysis (which in itself is not a finite value). And while the left-hemisphere type of consciousness may still rely on secondary rationalization, the right-hemisphere type cannot.

Even the secondary rationalization however is not endowed with the function of recoverability. Moreover, rationalization must involve an endless number of variants for recoverability, i.e. it should not be affective of reactionary.

Thus, my point here is that consciousness may be separated into three levels: one-dimensional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional, all of which in fact represent consciousness. Only the three-dimensional level however - which corresponds to the centered consciousness - may actually represent Man and his thinking.

The uncentered consciousness does not provide us with the opportunity to understand ourselves. This is why unless Man has reached this centered state and has attained balance (based on the balance of his brain), no matter how much he speaks from his personal perspective, he’ll only be presenting his reaction to the external world.

Objectivity is accessible only to the consciousness that possesses enough power, i.e. the centered consciousness. And until Man actually understands the essence of concentration, until he feels it physically, he cannot be himself even from the point of view of his parameters. Even if he realizes the human qualities, he’ll be unable to fully (or even partially) understand them. Therefore the presence of a material substrate called ‘brain’ does not guarantee that the person is something or understands something.

This is why until we understand how we can balance our consciousness, we can never find a reference point.
